SUMMER SUNDAY BIBLE CLASS: 
Beginning Sunday, June 6 and continuing through the summer months, there will be a Bible Class offered for the whole family at 9:15am each Sunday in the Fellowship Hall.  On the 2^nd and 4^th Sundays of each month this summer the Sunday School teachers will have an outside activity available for the younger children.   Younger ones can use the nursery area during the class.

INSTALLATION: 
Our WELS sister church in Columbia, TN (Christ Our Savior Lutheran) will have an installation service for their new 2^nd pastor on Sunday, June 20 at 5:00pm.  The congregation is invited to attend and celebrate with our friends at Christ Our Savior.

SMALL GROUP BIBLE STUDIES: 
Pastor and the Elders have been developing a small group ministry to begin in the Fall of this year to provide an atmosphere for Christian Fellowship and conversational, life application Bible Studies.  Sign-up sheets with class locations, the day and time and teachers of each class will be posted in August.  You will be invited to sign up for the class you would like to attend. 

Small group classes will be offered in trimesters:
September – early November (1^st Trimester)
Wednesday evening services will be offered during Advent
January – Ash Wednesday (2^nd Trimester)
Wednesday evening services will be offered during Lent
Post-Easter – May (3^rd Trimester). 

Pastor and the Elders pray that these opportunities to gather in small groups will be a blessing for our congregation. (The Sunday morning Bible Class will continue at 9:15am each Sunday throughout the year.)
 

Because his tomb is empty our hope is not.

Scientists say that the February, 2010 8.8 magnitude earthquake in Chile changed the earth's axis and shortened an earth day. Still, the massive power of the earthquake could change the world only by some 3 inches and 1.26 microseconds.

Another earthquake 2,000 years ago changed the world far more completely-- and forever. St. Matthew reports: "There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going into the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it.... The angel said to the women, 'Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen.'"

Far more than jusst moving the axis of the earth a couple of inches, the resurrection of Jesus Christ altered the world's future and everyon in it. It has opened the gates of heaven itself. It has lengthened our little span of time spent on earth to an eternity of life forever with God.

In short, because his tomb is empty, our hope is not. We have a savior who lives to guide us, to supportus, and finally to bring us safely to his side above. Come, worship with us this Easter season--and have your hope renewed.
