Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. (Romans 12:4,5 NIV)
The worship life of a congregation requires many volunteers. A list of suggestions is shown below. Please contact Pastor Werth to volunteer for a job in which you can joyfully serve our Savior. Don't worry about lacking experience. A desire to serve is all that's needed. Training can be provided.
Altar Guild
Teams of Altar Guild members rotate months of duty. They prepare the sanctuary for each worship service. Paraments are changed to match the liturgical color of the season, the host and wine are prepared for communion services, candles are refreshed, and flowers are arranged and set out. This team sets up and takes down the Christmas tree and advent wreath each December and January.
Nursery
Could you watch small children occasionally so their parents can concentrate on worship? Nursery volunteers arrive 15-20 minutes before the service, greet parents with a smile, watch the children during the worship service, and straighten the nursery area after church.
Greeter
You might welcome people and hold the door open for them as they arrive.
After the worship service, introduce yourself to visitors, invite them to coffee during the fellowship time after the service, and chat with them or just stand by the front door, smile as they leave, shake hands and say "Thank you for coming. Please sign our guest register and please come again."
Usher
Ushers arrive at church 20 minutes before the service, wearing a suit and tie. They greet people with a smile, hand out service folders/bulletins, help them find a seat (if needed), light the altar candles at 10:25 a.m., recruit side aisle ushers to help with the offering collection, extinguish the candles during the last stanza of the last hymn, and straighten hymnals/pick up bulletins and trash left in the pews after the service.
Fellowship
Make coffee before Sunday School hour (8:30 a.m.), set out cups, sugar, creamer, etc. This set-up can take place on Saturday, if you like. Pastor will plug in the coffee pot when he arrives on Sunday morning.
Bring Goodies and Juice for Fellowship after church, clean up the coffee pot and kitchen area, wipe off the tables, sweep the floor after the fellowship after the church service.
Maintenance
Rotating teams of people clean the church twice each month. Instructions are provided.
Mow lawn during the summer months.

Teacher
- Sunday School - Flexible opportunities exist. Classes are held at a variety of age levels: pre-K and K, 1-2, 3-4, 5-8, and teen. (Pastor teaches adults.) You might teach every Sunday, serve as an alternate in case of illness, or share a class with another teacher, working out a schedule (alternate Sundays, alternate months, other) that fits you best.
- Vacation Bible School - In addition to teachers, helpers are needed to provide and serve snacks, help with craft projects, help with children's music, and whatever other needs may arise from year to year.
